Deaf Studies

Since 2005, the Deaf Studies Department has ambitiously worked with Italian and American Deaf and signing communities in providing exciting opportunities for students and professionals alike. Through close collaboration with top professionals in the field, our programs allow ASL users access to transnational Deaf and signing communities through learning Italian Sign Language (LIS), and Italian Deaf Culture & History.

Programs include intensive summer research and study options, a full semester track in spring, and an ongoing array of workshops and service learning opportunities through our non-profit partner, the Mason Perkins Deafness Fund.
